Help Us Help You: Your Pre-Appointment Checklist

You've made the call, and an expert is on the way. Excellent! A successful and efficient repair visit is a team effort. By taking just a few simple steps before we arrive, you can help us work more effectively, diagnose the problem faster, and get your Sub-Zero—and your life—back in order as quickly as possible.

Your 4-Step "Ready for Repair" Checklist

1.

Confirm It Has Power (Seriously)

We're not trying to be funny. You would be absolutely amazed how often the "catastrophic failure" is just a tripped circuit breaker or a plug that was accidentally knocked loose by a broom. Take a quick look at your home's breaker panel and ensure the appliance is firmly plugged into the wall. This two-minute check could save you a service fee!

2.

Clear a Path for Access

Our technicians need a safe and clear space to work their magic. Please ensure the area in front of and around your appliance is accessible. This might mean moving a kitchen table, a rolling island, or some decorative items. The more easily we can access the unit's panels and components, the faster we can get to work.

3.

Manage the Welcoming Committee

We are big fans of kids and pets! However, for their own safety and to allow our technician to fully concentrate, please keep curious children and furry friends at a safe distance while we're working with tools, heavy parts, and electrical components.

4.

Jot Down the Symptoms

Be ready to give our technician a quick, accurate report. The more details, the better! Before we arrive, try to note down:

  • The exact problem: (e.g., "The fridge section is 50°F, but the freezer is still frozen.")
  • Any error codes on the display.
  • The specific noises it's making: (e.g., "A loud buzzing sound for 10 seconds every 15 minutes.")
  • When you first noticed the issue.

Bonus: 3 Things NOT to Do Before We Arrive

  1. Don't defrost the freezer (unless we specifically ask you to). Seeing the frost pattern is a crucial diagnostic clue that tells us how the system is failing.
  2. Don't turn the appliance off for hours beforehand. We need to observe the appliance trying to run to properly diagnose the sounds and symptoms.
  3. Don't attempt your own complex repairs. Beyond the simple checks listed above, please leave the tools in the drawer. You could inadvertently cause more damage or make diagnosis more difficult.

Got It? Great.

Let’s get your Sub-Zero fixed.

See you soon!
